Fearnan Arts Event Success
The second Arts and Crafts Fair held in the McLean Hall, Fearnan was a great success. The people of Fearnan should be proud of the contribution that it makes to the artistic reputation of the whole area, and of the money raised for charitable purposes, this year’s beneficiary being Alzheimer Scotland.
The Fair has an inclusive policy, encouraging all artists and photographers, both amateur and professional, to exhibit together, making it an enjoyable viewing experience.
Demonstrations
Ian McGregor reported that a special and well supported feature of the Fair was the demonstrations given each day by experienced artists and craftspeople. This year Diana Horsfall demonstrated wickerwork, Andy Burt pottery, Hedi Straw card making, Eric Timms painting, Eilidh Keith from Glasgow stained glass, Louise Scott from Orkney print making and Judi Campbell felt making.

“It is always fascinating to watch skilled practitioners work and to learn from them. We are very grateful to them for their contribution to the success of the Fair. We also thank the local poet, John Ramsay, for a relaxed enjoyable evening,” said Ian.
“Special thanks also is due to all those who contributed to the show, helped to prepare for it and run it over the four days,” he added.
