Lynn Pascoe 'Piece Work' Exhibition

Cornish printmaker Lynn Pascoe’s latest series of work is currently being exhibited at The Watermill Gallery in Aberfeldy. Entitled ‘Piece Work’ it is based on the theme of ‘hidden’ agricultural workers.

Coming from a farming family, Pascoe has always been conscious of the ‘hidden’ workers on the land and has spent time photographing and drawing a team of Ukranians for this series of work. Reflecting upon the presence of these men and women on the land, she challenges the concepts of place/displacement and the issues of identity.

Pascoe uses a variety of printing techniques such a monotype, woodcut, linocut and etching. She uses qualities of light and dark to emphasise aspects of the atmosphere of the workplace and to present her reactions to a place.

The issues surrounding immigrant land workers is very topical at the moment and Pascoe’s latest work personalises the people involved. She represents them not just as a general source for debate, but as individuals.

‘Piece Work’ is being exhibited at the Watermill Gallery in Aberfeldy until 11 October.
