Arts Council Award for Local Writer
Mid Scotland and Fife Green MSP Mark Ruskell warmly congratulated Linda Cracknell of Aberfeldy, one of the Creative Scotland Awards 2007 winners announced on 8 March.
However, Mark Ruskell MSP said: ”I would like to congratulate Linda Cracknell. The awards demonstrate the strength and range of artistic work in Scotland, and underlines how important it is that Scottish government supports and celebrates its artists rather than try to enchain them in the bureaucracy proposed the Culture Bill.
“In particular, the new agency Creative Scotland will be controlled ultimately by ministers, a move that could potentially stifle the kind of talent that these awards recognise and help nurture.” |
